Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook Story

Mark Zuckerberg is the founder, chairman and CEO of Facebook. He was born on May 14th in 1984 in White Plains, New York and was brought up in Dobbs Ferry. He was born to a well educated parents and at a very young age Mark developed his interests in computer programming. At the age of 12, Mark  built a messaging program titled Zucknet that he implemented as an inter-communication system for his dental’s practice. The early signs of success of Mark, made his parents hire a computer programming tutor when he was in high school and then enrolled him into a prep school in the New Hampshire. After completing his graduation, he enrolled into Harvard University.

Along with thousands of brilliant minds at Harvard University, Mark Zuckerberg quickly became the go-to computer programmer on the campus and by his sophomore year he had already developed two programs which was CourseMatch and FaceMash. The programs became popularly within a short span of time but it later do shut as the university deemed it to be inappropriate.

Mark then decided to partner with his friends to create a social networking platform that allowed Harward students to connect with each other.

After his sophomore year, Mark dropped out of the college in order to pursue his passion for computer programming which was then called Facebook. The website  initially reached over 1 million users by then end of 2004.

By the end of 2005, Facebook opened up to the students for other schools caused the website to reach over 5.5 millions users.

Since 2005, Facebook received several acquisition offering the likes of Yahoo and Microsoft has been several battles and later on greatly increased the user base.

In the year 2019, Facebook introduced Q3 Earning. The company then reported that over daily active users average is estimated to be 1.62 billion for September 2019. Monthly active users tracked to be 2.45 billion with an increase of 8%. With the completion of Jan 2020, the company now has a capital of $598 billion. Mark owns over 375 million Facebook shares and holds over 60% of the voting rights in the company.

Currently, Mark Zuckerberg’s net worth is estimated to be $78 billion.

Zuckerberg’s facebook story and charities has always been a great influencer by setting great examples. He claimed that he will be donating 50% of his net worth to philanthropic causes before he dies.
